I put some dumb drawings in my profile to help answer the age old mazda upper bag mount questions. If you go look you might be able to use it. Ill have more pics of lowers and upper mounts if you want them. Please excuse the cartoonish red sharpie. It was late and i was bored.

Upper Bag Mount Pictures

i found that if you are puttin your upper mount extra high (or even normal)..and cut out alot for it..running your gussets DOWN eliminates the common problem of upper control arm mounts/bag brackets breaking away from the frame

That makes sense, putting them down puts the load vectors perpendicular to the mount. Kind of like an I beam.

Yeah you can put em up or down......i like em up but ive done em down too. but if the are down they are more likely to tear off which if your welds are good wont happen and if they are up your load pushes torwards the frame which is a more natural force with suspension. Either way its cool. Im not gonna debate it like four links and two links.

in my dumb drawings there is no gussets shown thats just the overhang you have when you trim out the bump to the frame.

You cant use the overhang for a gusset. Its like that on mine, when the bracket finally bends at a 90 degree angle I'll let you know cause its almost there. I need to put some gussets in there before my mounts break.
