I put planet audio 1400 on two thirteens ported and it was straight. That's more than 500 watts on two. Not trying to argue but it's better to have to much than not enough.

THERE W1S NOT W3S THEY SHOULD BE FINE WITH THE 500/1, THATS MY OPINION UNLESS HE DOES A BLOW THROUGH HE IS GOING TO BE CRAMPED FOR AIRSPACE ANYWAYS..

lol yea planet audio...JL amps have way more power than a planet audio..Ive been doin car stereo for along time. If he makes a vented box for those 13w1 it will be crazy loud with that 500/1. Yea you are right about having more power is better but he is on a budget and the 500/1 will do perfectly fine on that step upOriginally posted by fatheadjames

Also JL Audio subs have much better sound quality then most subs on the market for the price.
