sereously you would consider it as poor a job as JB welding it?? what is the purpose at all for even doing this type of welding then? What good is it for if it will just break?

As much as I hate to say it, I used a flux core for all my shaving and my rollpan years ago. Only thing I had access to at the time. It was one with a high and low setting as well. I used it on low and used the same tacking technique as you would with a mig. But you REALLY need a good mig for this kinda thing.

flux core is also called farmers wire and used for fixing little pullshit stuff around the house that doesnt have to look good like parts on lawnmowers and small shit.

well thanks for the input. I will keep my eyes open for a true MIG welder for shaving while I practice and learn with this one. anyone know any good places to check for a nice used MIG? (or have one you are willing to donate to a good cause?) LOL

check with locak auctioneers, they do alot of bank forclosure auctions on places that typically have welders for repair.
