The 11-03 issue of SSM Import had a civic in it, with a BAD steering wheel in it, if anyone can find the owner of that car maybe they can enlighten us as to where that adapter came from.

I friend of mine Mike Urso has a 94 civic with a BAD steering wheel and this is what we had to do. Go to Pep Boys or anywhere else that sells (5 hole)Billet Grant steering wheel adapters for the your modle civic. Then call Lecarra and tell them you need a 5 hole to a 9 hole hub adapter (most billet wheels are 9 hole, BAD, Billet specialties, Calorado Customs, Weld, etc.) Lecarra doesn't realy advertise them but they do have them and they aren't that expensive. This will be much cheeper than having one custom made and when the hub and the adapter are installed you can't tell there is an adapter.
You can check his out his SSM name is bagged94civic and he is in Slammed Images car club.

^^^^ I guess the "adapter" would be apparent 'cause the 9 holes adapters have a bigger diameter than the 5 holes one. It's almost half an inch bigger in diameter. But I guess it would be a good way to go anyway.

If the old Corolla adapter fits on a Civic Column, it should be pretty easy to find... a lot less assle than having one made.

Good luck with it and post a picture of the wheel inside your car when you're done!!

I made one for my wifes 98 civic. cut apart the factory steering wheel to use the center splined section. welded it into a piece of round tubing. I then made a ring out of 3/16 plate (1/4 inch would be better) the same diameter as the lecarra bolt pattern, then drilled and tapped all the holes. welded the ring to the tubing, bolted the steering wheel on. Make sure the inside diameter of the ring is the same diameter as the outside diameter of the horn button, so that the button will snap into place. It worked out real well, I'll see if I can get some pics. If you have it chromed it'll look sweet.

? The grant steering wheel adapters stop at 92 year model and I know that it will not fit a 93-95 model and also from personal experience that it will not fit on a 96-00 model civic because I had the same ideaOriginally posted by FTW720

i believe this is the one i used. i took a couple phone calls to get someone to help me. the 1st few calls they told me they dont make one cause of the airbag. eventually one lady knew of a "pre-aribag" adapter that had the same splines.
1986-1990 celica/camry #19603
1988-1989 corolla #19603
if you can find out if your year civic is the same spline as a 96 accord this adapter will work. i had to make a plate to get the horn button to work correctly, but its all good now.
