how tough is hooking up a megasquirt EFI and how much $$ are we talking about. ive been throwing around the idea of turboing my Isuzu (not looking to smoke everything on the road, just for kicks) and EFI would be the best fuel delivery for sure.

the megasquirt isnt that much, you can build one yourself for around 250 or so. Or buy one built, lots on ebay.

The expensive part though can be the conversion from carb to efi. You'll need a fuel pump, new high pressure rubber lines (the hard lines will still work), a suitable intake, injectors, a fuel rail, a pressure regulator.

If you are doing MSII, you'll need a Ford EDIS ignition system from an escort and to have a crank mount made for the trigger wheel.

I made a lot of stuff myself, so I only have about 800 in my setup. If there ever was an EFI version of your truck or motor, you can get a lot of the parts from that. For example, I am using a factory Mazda 2.0 EFI intake and injectors while my intake for the CBR's is being redesigned. Bolted on, and had injectors and fuel rail and pressure regulator and a throttle body.

Its worth it though, when you turn the key and the engine JUMPS to life. Idle is perfect, no re tuning for winter or summer, I'll never have a carb'd truck again.
