I'm not going to be removing all of my pinch, just roughly 3/4 of it. So, if I cut it until there is about 3/8" of the pinch weld left will it hold together alright?

i folded mine over on my truck then set the cab down on the rockers.

To fold it over was a BITCH...your not gonna do it with a soft mallet. I actually had to heat mine up with the torch to get it to fold over easily.

Well Tim, now I'm thinking I just want to cut a portion of it off. I'm going to be dropping my motor down, and then doing a 1 3/4" BD. The rockers are 2 1/8" off the ground. So I was wondering if the upper 3/8" would hold the rockers together if I cut the rest off.

I want to keep a stock hood. I'm dropping the motor down 3/8" so the pan will be damn cloose to the ground, and I will have to grind the bottom of my exhaust flange off on my new nickel plated header. I don't want to cut the hood, and after a lot of measuring, a 1 3/4" BD is the biggest I can go, and I want as much headroom as possible. I'm 6'4" and this truck is smaller than the average Toyota. Plus, I'll be skinning the hood for the 18s, and extra 3/8" would put them out of the hood. And the hood lines are really what sold me on this body style truck. So, thats my reasoning for "Being a pussy."

Seth, dont listen to that FOOL. Its not his truck!

if you cut into or past the spot welds it WILL seperate. I would just fold it over, because if you plan on dragging AT ALL you just gonna have to weld it up anyways.

I dropped my motor 3/4 of an inch and my pan sat 1/4 inch from the ground so i sectioned my pan and now it sits about 1/2-5/8 off the ground.

Lol, alright, I'll just make a few relief cuts and fold it right there.

I'm slowly finding out that my truck isn't like most other Toyotas. Theres not as much room. I have to move my brake booster over 3" and up 2" to clear my 18s.. And, I already sectioned my pan an inch, and it's about 5/8" off the ground. So, I'm doing all of the measuring possible to find out exactly how much I have to cut here and there. Hell, I'm still now even sure what I'm going to do about my front arms and getting a bag in there. Lol...

Thanks for the advice though Tim! Sorry to get off subject.

I went ahead and cut the pinch completely off then welded it together. Turned out nice. As you can see in the pic below I should cut it off behind the rear wheels because its buried in the concrete....
