Im also looking into the possibility of using Mustang II spindles, rotors and brakes. these can be ordered as drop spindles and the brakes come in several different versions.

its probably going to be easier than finding Toyota stuff at a wrecking yard these days.

I do know the first set will be with Toyota arms. the guy Im doing the prototyping on his truck has already gotten the Toyota parts.

the good thing is the Mustang II spindles can be ordered in drop or not and with almost any lug pattern you want.

the main thing is the crossmember would bolt into existing holes in the Ranger frame.

I have very little extra time these days but ill do my best to get this out quickly.

I love Rangers and would like to see older ones layed out without having to clip the front.

Damn straight, I have a 1990 Ranger waiting to be bagged and bodydropped in my front yard. Got DJM dream beams on it but other than that, it's a real bitch. Get that set-up done!

whoo hoo rangers are turning into s10s lets bolt everything on. just playin hope u can make some decent money. i thought about control arms on the X but i dont know if i could give up my 21 inches of lift. unless i go crazy with the arms

i just wana drive pounded w/ minimal camber lol
DawgsledMazda   +1y
no need for that much lift on any truck.

peeps with beams just want decent lift without the negative camber hassles.

an engine crossmember that bolts on to allow for tube arms cant be compared to an S-10 bolt on anything.

its more like street rod stuff.

FYI mike the crossmember that hte ibeams bolts is part of the engine xmember. what year frame are you doing it on?
slammedxonair   +1y
also it would be cool if u made the x member to drop the motor down i bet alot of people would be happy to not have to cut their hoods

Thats what I was thinking. that means its going to need provisions for motor mounts, and its gonna be a pretty major install. Gonna be a fair amount of R&D into it to make it work right. I really dont see it being available by the end of february.

theres only a few holes for the motor mounts.
it will be easy, just like installing a mustang II setup.

seems to me that the engine needs to go down as low as possible while the bottom of the engine crossmember needs to be at least as high as the rest of the frame. '

been looking at I beam Rangers in preparation.

I think going with mustang II spindles is going to be the best way to get everything new. plus Mustang II stuff is available at many places and with lots of wheel pattern options and brake options, as well as drop spindles and etc.
