I just rebuilt my B2200 engine, put it back in and started it yesterday, i think i have a few vac line leaks, but the quesion i have is the hose/line that runs from each port on my exhaust manifold to my air cleaner, is spraying out oil?? i am not sure what could be causing this it is very very black oil to, i put new valve seals in and just took the valve cover off to make sure a valve was sticking and there wasn't if anyone knows anything let me know thanks...

anyone help!!!

hmmm i am a bit lost but maybe a timing issue, making it run bad plus valves being open at the wrong time in turn making it spit oil. it still should not be black oil nor alot of it. something is up....

are you sure its oil? A good running engine will have carbon and water in the exhaust...

If it is oil, and its not just leftover from oil burning before a rebuild, the prognosis is bleak. Likely rings, which happens sometimes when you put a fresh head on an old bottom end. Black oil is usually an indicator of such blowby.

But if the engine is not smoking out the tailpipe it may just be residue from pre rebuild. Your cats may be plugged too, which would force a lot more exhaust out the EGR.

am i supposed to have much blowby, and i did rebuild the whole engine, bored .20 w/ new pistons rings rod and main bearings everything, when i had the head checked for cracks its had none, but i did have to shave it down quite a bit, and add a shim plate between the head and block..

oh it does smoke out the tail pipe a little, but i have only had the engine run for five miutes cause it just idled like crap and had a radiator hose leaking, the engine seemed to smooth out w/ more throttle, at idle it looked like it wanted to jump out of the truck!!!

here is what i found out today, it is not oil, it is gas coming out of my exhausti started the engine today and did some looking around and gas is coming out between my cyld head and exhaust manifold, i checked and no valves are sticking or anything like that

if anyone has any clues to what might be wrong that would be sweet!!! I rebuilt my carb, and its still dumping fuel like crazy into my engine, and changed my oil today and it was full of gas, the oil was as thin as water!!!! does anyone think that i have a vac line hooked up wrong and its just sucking fuel into my engine???? Please help!!
