do you have pics of this?? havent seen the new body style on 22's yetOriginally posted by nyccustomizer

The new body style impala that we had at the shop with 22's actually had spacers to bring the rim out to clear the strut.Thats the only way ive seen 22's on it.

seems to me that wheel spacers would work and be the easiest fix...

If you are careful, you can cut the tabs off the strut and move that mount up. It is tricky but it can be done. Ive done it before at my shop. You will have to cut some off the spring to compensate for the lifting of the mount or it will ride like dookie.

thats why i said it would be tricky to do it...you would have to like tack and cool, tack and cool...had a cavalier that i gave to my bro, and we depressurized the struts, and made em in to air struts, worked awesome

can you explain the details on how you did this

I re-read the post,if your having a problem with the tire rubbing the strut? What size tire? maybe change tire size...You could do the Mr scrape way too if the customer doesn't want an adjustable suspension that would work out...If they do want adjustablity you could do the universal strut kit and heres a link to see what it looks like

did you find out what size tire? i have seen a few monte's with 22's running the same size tires i have (255-30-22) and im pretty sure they didnt have to go into very much fab work since the guys driving were how should i say this nicely... ok fuckit those brutha's was ghetto with a capital G

I wouldnt run no smaller than a 35series tires. below that its just rubber bands and the cost and risk of fuckin the rims go waaay up. If your talkin about the strut plate thats hitting the tires that can be bent up maybe trimmed a little. I know grand ams with 20's do the same, and gp's with 22's that did the same. if you still want more lift so u can turn I could imagine you could machine yourself up a spacer (wouldnt do a huge one) and place it on top of the strut where it bolts on to your car. But you would also have to knock out those stock bolts and put some bigger ones in.

oh and get a front end alignment lol

dont be a jackass dude^^ he just needs to lift the strut up, he can still run lowering springs after he does that.
