so it's time to move past the leaf springs on get on a 4 link. i'm thinkin triangulated with the bags on the lower bars, but this is my first mazda. what is everyone else using? i may be going with 18 or 20" rims, not sure yet. what's been working well for everyone else? should have some pics of this turd on my profile soon.

I run a triangulated with the bags on the lower bars. It rides nice and smooth as long as you have shocks. I dont think there is a "best" way to do it. There are so many ways to do it, youve just got to decide what YOU would rather do.

i would run an irs....

irs would be sweet i had that in my mercedes and got hella lift with bags. anyhow i was wondering if people had their lower bars directly under the frame rails on a tri 4 link or inner of the frame rails, for mounting the bags on the bars. i made the ones on my s10 when i had it directly under the frame but i had the bags over the axle, and i will never do that again. they rode like crap at any psi. i've seen alot of different setups but was wondering if it would be better if the lower bars were under the frame with the bags inbetween, or the lower bars inner of the frame rails with the tops of the bags mounted to gussets off the side of the frame?

on my truck we put the lower bars under the frame.my triangulated bars are where we put my bags.i love the ride quality.i also had my bags over the axle in the beginning and yes that ride quality sucks.

i ran all my bars inboard the frame triangulated and ALL forward, i'm not a fan of reverse, just get a fuel cell and run everything forward you'll be happy you did. and it was bagged over the axle with my pete and jake shocks mounted at a 45 degree angle andit got plenty of lift and rode great. if your wanting to do 20s, with a bodydrop you're going to have to eithe rnarrow your rear end or get a different rear end which is narrower, or run a really hardcore FWD offset wheel to tuck and clear with no problems.

you can make an over the axle ride nice, running bags on the bars does RIDE nicer in some cases, but all that lift you dont really need. 5-6 inches is the plenty (well thats my opinion since i used to drive low as fuck anyway! :LOL and you can get over the axle with the right shocks mounted the right way and with right bags to ride just as nice if not better than bags on teh bars.

I did the a triangulated 4 link with the a backs on lower bars, haven't driven it yet but i hope it rides really nice, those are 2600# bags, upper are 38" lowers are 36". I tried to put the bags as far forward as i could, as u can see its pretty tight clearance, bags are almost halfway on the bars.

i mounted mine on the top bars and it rides just as nice, the only thing i would advise is to make sure that you mount the bag on the center of the bar, not off of a perch that is welded to the bar, because it will tear up your bushings. also keep it all forward. and if you are concerned with ride quality and want to mount the bags on the axle you can try sleeve bags, i dont care for them, but they are a smoother ride when mounted between axle and frame.
