ok, first off... im really not all that good with electrical stuff... but im not horrible either... but... my accord is bagged ( i just have a regular 10switch switch box) but it doesnt have a security system in it at all ... im going to purchase a system sometime.. what i really want though is when i activate my security suystem, i want the car to pankake.. and when i deactivate it, for the bags to inflate.. what all is involved in doing this, is it difficult to do? is there a specific security system that i need? thanks guys.. and sorry for the tarted question...

you will need diode's and relay's
and you will need an output on your alarm.

kool man .. thanks.. does anyone have any diagrams/directions that might help me? cause like i said.. im not the best with complicated electrical stuff.

you wont find a diagram anywhere, just read your manual from your alarm and it will tell you how to wire up +12V triggers off the alarm.

some switch box's come with an extra 12V outlet (trigger?). i know mine has it and i was under the assumption it was for an alarm

Hey you will definatly need an alarm with two auxillary outputs. Relays might be used in order to step up voltage or change the polarity of these outputs. TYpically any high end or middle of the line code alarm or clifford will have enough.

Go with any alarm from directed electronics like a viper, python, avitol, hornet. just make sure it has at least 2 aux channels. now to make it pancake when you arm it.. thats easy. you will need a relay(or 4)and diodes. off the alarm you will hook the orange wire(neg when armed) to terminal 85 on the relay. now you need to tap ito a fused battery source...red off the alarm. put that to terminal 30 and also to terminal 86 on the relay. lastly attach terminal 87a through diodes to each of your dumps. you must either diode isolate each wire to the dumps or use 4 separate relays... your choice. do make it do other things like see-saw and sides, is a bit more involved with relays and diodes

excellent info man.. that helps me out alot...so basicly any security system that has the auxilary ports will work for this is that correct? is it possible to have the bags inflate when i disarm the alarm? would i need an alarm with 4 aux. ports then? thanks...

milk b wouldnt that keep the valves open all the time?
Seth yes you can go up but you will need a timer module dei (viper) sells an adjustable one. that way when armed it opens the valve for enough time to get the truck up then the valve shuts off.
you will not need 4 outputs. The way milk b pointed out uses the starter kill output that is on most every alarm and you would not need any optional outputs. use must use the diodes to "isolate" the valves power wires from one another. The diodes will allow the power to go one way. without diodes each wire would backfeed to other valves example you hit LF and the whole ride will drop. When ya get the alarm let me know and I will sketch an outline.
so to answer do you need an alarm with other outputs, NO if you only want to go up or down. Most alarms have at least 2 outputs with that you can then use those for down, front etc etc.
