you don't need a heavy duty relay if you run it in negative polarity. I run my relay off my negastive and it never heats up. I run one of those 30amp realy from any auto parts stores, on my 550. this is what I used as a diagram.

you do need something a little larger than a 30 amp relay, at max they can draw like 38 amps. i have two az units and run them via a heavy duty single pole, single throw multiple battery isolater relay. you can get them from any rv supplier. yep, the relay for running multiple batteries are rated at like 180 amps, just fine to use in this application. like 18 bucks bro.

My bad, I didn't know the AZ comp. draw that many amps. My 550 says it draws 35 and this set-up seems to be working fine. Oh and I wasn't the one who thought of it. ^^^^^^Sam is the one who told me to wire it this way. Thanks BTW.

and i stand by it........never run your pressure switch off of a positive trigger......you'll fry you pressure switch in like a week. this has been addressed many times before. you got the correct schematic there david.......no worries bro. but i would use the rv relay. best bang for the buck and it's damn heavy duty. no probs w it.
