I swapped the engine out of my wrecked truck into my new truck and cant get it to start. I reset the timing before I ever tried to crank it so I know its good. Sounds like the battery is dead cause it barely turns over but I recharged the battery and it did the same. The vac line that runs from the carb to the dist gets full of gas. Is this just from flooding or is something wrong?

get a new battery

Its brand new, I had to buy it because the other "brand new" $80 one was a piece of shit. If its the battery I'll probably shoot myself.

check the blinker fluid

Is that right there next to the smartass sensor on the kanuter valve?

My battery is grounded to the frame and the engine block. If you pull the ground off the block it will just turn over forever and not fire. Might wanna check that

no the blinker fluid is next to the muffler. i think its the kinnibler pin that holds the valve stem in your wheels. as long as you got 32psi she should run great!

seriously though it sounds like a ground issue.

no he's got a malfunctioning dunkabar valve it keeps proper exhaust lube temperatures and perportions the headlight fluid geez i figured some one would have thought about that already

that line shouldn't be gettings gas. gas plus 4 strong sparks probably wouldn't like each other

check for spark first, pretty much unplug each plug wire from the dist and crank the truck to see if it arcs. if it arcs, then pour some gas directly onto the carb, if it starts then you have a fuel problem

where is your vac line connected to? your post make it seem like you have it connected directly to the carb. i know mine is off of a T under the exhaust return system, not directly on the carb

The vac line is connected to the Weber carb via the instructions that came with the carb. It ran fine for over a year with the line connected in the exact same place so I wouldnt figure its in the wrong spot. My battery is grounded to the block and the frame. I dont know why Im getting so much gas coming through the vacumn advance line. It connects to the port on the carb right above the fuel return line.

On the other hand, my dunkabar valve is on the fritz and my kinnibler pin has been giving me issues since 1987.
