heres some pics of my bodymount in the body, and the frame perch. I cut straight through(or as straight as i could) the cab bodymount. I just want to see what you guys did to brace it, because i dont feel comfortable just butt welding it... not the strongest.

sorry for the poor quality... i was cold when i took the pics up here in Canada we have this thing called winter, plus i have no heat in the garage.

b, thats exactly what it should look like. You can go back with some small pieces and weld the gussets back together.

Good job, looks like you are doing it right. I suspected thats what you meant by "cut trough a body mount" but wanted to be sure you hadnt cut right through the rubber mount or something crazy.

Anyway, you did it exactly right, when you put in your filler metal you go back under and weld the gussets to the filler, and then use some small pieces to weld teh gusset back to the rocker, and cover it with some paint. Awesom awesome awesome.

thanks russ, you kick ass. lol, what would us mazda dudes do without you? Now as for measuring reference points on the cab.. i want to weld it square and true. Besides the back wall on the cab(its ribbed, i can measure/line those up) what else can i measure off of? Im gonna take the entire thing full of filler plates before i weld anything to prevent shifting. I dont want a crooked cab
