Hey Bobby, I have a question for you. It's a little long, and I have pictures so I didn't want to try an IM. Plus other people may have suggestions.

My problem, is with too much camber. I like a decent amount, but what I have is excessive. My tire is barely on the ground, and it tucks in about 2 inches past the core support. here are the pictures.

Also, if the tires stay at this angle, they will be taller than my hood when body dropped. It also takes up a LOT of room in the engine compartment. So, what can I do to reduce the camber? Can I move the upper control arm mount up a little more? My upper arm is damn near straight up and down laid out. Drop spindles are out of the question because they won't fit my arms, suspension is a little bit different design. so, any help would be very appreciated. I'm a little lost at this point.

you could lengthen your upper arms a tad.

ive read that changing the mounting points of the control arm effect other geometry and may result in bumpsteer.

damn i think that camber is sic tho. but i hear where your coming from.

Are you going to bodydrop it? You could stock floor under the cab and use a later model Toyota front clip. Then you could use drop spindles if you still need to.

Yea, I guess lengthining the uppers would work alright. I already moved up both arm mounts equally.

Mike, I like camber for sure, but this is a littl emuch for me. I want more than an inch of tire on the ground. I want to drive low sometimes. Plus, the biggest deal, is the room under the hood. I'm not cutting a hole in my hood.

James, I'm doing a traditional. And, the only difference int he suspension is the lower arms and balljoints. The balljoint faces upward. And, I already triangulated my arms and made mounts, so I kind of want to stick with these.

If I lengthen the uppers, how much?

Thanks Mike. Can't wait to see yours laying flat out.

What if I made my own tubular upper arms? If I made them about 1" maybe 1.5" longer would it be alright? Or would that totally fuck my geometry? And, if I were to make uppers, what could I use for the bushing cups? Could I grab another set of arms, and build the tubes off the stock bushing cup, then put my new bushings in it?

just looking at the mounting points for the control arms, it appears that they mount the same as my 88 although w/o the upside down ball joints. if you want to pay for shipping you can have ALL my stock front suspension (upper & lower control arms, spindles, ball joints, strut rods). & my camber was never that bad, even with the stock spindles.

not sure if you're interested, but it's all going with my next metal run to the recyclers.
good luck though...
