I use anti-crater additive to prevent fisheyes... and yeah, sounds like solvent pop to me too.

i work at vins paint and body in beaumont tx. I am not going to act like i know everything about painting cause i dont, but i do know that the nason clear is duponts cheapest clear. When i go to work tomorrow i will get the name of the clear that we use. U also need to wipe your car down with a product called prepsol the dupont code is 3919, wipe it on with the sontara rags that dupont makes. That should take care of the fish eye prob

7900 is the clear we use at my work....and theres like 4 different types of prepsol 2 use....final clean, laquer and enamel cleaner, and one other water based one......one of them is the 3919 but all serve different puposes.....solvent pop is just from not enough flash time between coats or even a reaction with the already sanded clear, so i dunno.....where are you at with the clearin now....is it sanded back down or is the pinholes still there?

I gotta say Thank you everyone for your post on helping me out. And when you guys say Flush time is that meaning? not enough time for the layer to dry before i clear again?

and i have sanded it down the bumps are gone but if you put the part at a angal u will see little hole i guess were the bumps use to be. I polished and waxed it. It doenst look glossy any more. So i was thinking of recoating it tomorrow this is for carbon fiber parts not for a car body.

and what is anti- crater additive?

the lil pin holes are called solvent pop....this can be caused by not enough time between coats, as well as applying too heavy of a coat.....the only way to get solvent pop out is to sand it down, spray a real light coat of clear so it will fill the holes, then spray 3 regualr coats of clear over the top of it, giving 15-20 minutes between coats........make sure to clean the area to be sprayed with wax and grease remover...do it a couple of times, to just be sure...

not flush, flash time, and yeah, it's the time between coats. which that could be a problem too, how many coats are you putting on?

I'd have to go out and look for the part number on the anticrater shit, but it's just an additive (use very little) to mix in the clear to prevent fisheyes.

the first 2 layer i spray it really thin like which still leaves dry spots.. i wait about 10 mins then spray again. after like the 3rd time i guess i flooded the part with clear then when it started to dry i notice little pin size bumps starting to appear.

many carbon parts have little pinholes in them and seem to never fill up. i did a fender on a ducati street bike and cleared the thing 3 times with 3-4 coats of clear each time and the pinholes never filled up.
