try these

Yea, I made those for Jason. You can also take a look at what I have at www.bagginit.com/TechnicalInfo and see if any of those help you as well, or at least give you an idea of where to go.

i would look at the compressor also. I don't think its strickly a wire issue. 30A fuse for (1) 450? That should be plenty. if its blowing that it could be 3 things as i see it.

(1.) the wire COULD be too small (not sure about that unless its really long) this would present a voltage drop at the compressor. What happens when the voltage drops and the compressor trys to keep running close to 12V? the amps go up blowing the fuse.

(2.)the compressor is on its way out , has something hanging it up or resisting it internally and increasing the draw from it.

(3.) a combination of both wire size and the compressor crapping out.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same problem right now on a car I built for someone. It's a Magnum, so the battery and two Viair 480 compressors are in the spare tire well together. I have an 8 ga. wire to a relay with inline fuse going to each individual comp. The wire is only about 3' long too. One compressor keeps blowing the fuse (even 60a). I think it's something wrong with the comp, and it's only about 3 weeks old, but has been doing this since the first week installed. Lance Martz has been helping me and says I may have to ship back the comp for them to look at it.

might want to change your relay. i had that problem once my relay was going bad

i ALWAYS run a 100 amp solenoid on compressors...

u can also get the wire from radio shack,i know all the ones i have been 2 sells it,i have one of the 450z on my truck and im only fot a 20a fuse on it and it works good

This stuff is only a few weeks old. I was concerned about the relays too, so I was going to replace them with the 80a solenoid because I thought it would be better. But Lance thought it could be a problem with the compressor.
And Derek, what are you talking about wire?

im having the same problems.it started wen i was at a show and the wire that went to the one solenoid got disconnected, then i wired it all up to the solenoid and i think the solenoid messed up so i had to connect them staright to the battery until i got home.ever since then ive had nuthin but problems, the first thing that happend was i was burin up the wire that went to the one switch for the two 380's that i have.so i upgraded the wire that went to the switch i think to like 8ga wire, still heated up.then i put a fuse inbetween the battery and the switch,i blew the fuses, then i put fuses and switches for the comps.now all of a sudden my truck isnt charging, like my battery is dead or sumthin,so ima check if its the alternator tommorw.if its not the alternator, wat can it be.i still dont have a solenoid for the comps or pressure switch.

i had the exact same problem and when i rewired
everything it was still doing it.

turned out to be the inline check valve was stuck open which caused the compressor to build alot of back pressure and blow the fuses. this was on a 380.
