Rear setup for a dakota

Okay what exactly needs to be done to get get the rear of a dakota on the ground? I was thinkin shorten axel or can u get a set of 18's with a diff. backspacing to clear the fenders? is so what BS is needed? Also Just a regualr Suicidedoors notch or something special?

you can go a ton of different ways but doing a parallel 4 link an simple notch an over the axle setup is a very simple way to get it down, an as for the rear end, i narrowed mine so i could tuck 20s but its your call there cause you definently can also just have some wheels made or something to tuck , shortening the rear end may end up being cheaper for ya though.

Thanks man can u weld to the differntial. cause i know on my fullsize cehvrolet i was forced to do the parallel 4-link cause my diff. was cast. Also will the stock wheels with smaller tires tuck?

but no the dakota has a cast iron differential so if you wanna run the stock gas tank you gotta do a parallel

and ya you can tuck stocks with smaller tires

check out d4k0t4 s profile, i narrowed his rear end 5", and the front 3 3/4", it has a wishbone setup on it with the stock gastank location.... i think theres a pic in my scoop of his rear setup....

im runnin 20 x 8.5 with a +40 on my dak and they tuck hard with a stock rearend but i flaired the fenders out bout a inch on each side for safe measure
