im tryin to get my brakes finished in my fullsize, so i replaced the leaky booster, then i still wasnt able to get a good amount of pressure, so i got a new master cylinder, and now me and my nephew have been pumping the brakes for like 2 hrs, and the pedal is still going to the floor. i bench bled the master cylinder too. it seems like after pumping the brakes for 10-12 times, then if you look in the reservoir there is fluid coming back up into it... should that be happening? ive never had a problem before like this.... could it be something in the abs preventing me from bleeding the brakes? j

I'm not sure Cris, but after pumping for 2 hours you are well on your way to kicking through walls like Chuck Norris.

LOL my nephew runs track, so ive been letting him do most of it, i woulda quit way before now.....

oh yea, im getting enough pressure to squirt fluid out, and even have the rear drums work.

Did you start the engine before bleeding?

yea a friend suggested running it, but still the same, like it gets to a certain pressure, then just starts feeding fluid back into the reservoir.

I'm assuming your nephew knows cars. I've had people help me and come to find once I tell them to stop they just lift there foot off the pedal and before I tighten it up there standing next to me drinkin a beer.

You have to get it up to speed before the computer does the diagnostic check. Looks like you have alot of open forest around you, if you have some pressure run it to 5 mph and let the pump come on and add some fluid to bleed the abs unit first.

i think the master cylinder is bad, i took it back off the truck, plugged the ports on the abs unit, used a screwdriver to push the piston in, and its squirting fluid back up into the reservoir.

hm... maybe i dont know how to bleed them? every other time ive done this, it worked fine, but i just went and picked up a new master cylinder, filled the reservoir, hooked it up to the abs and porportioning valve, plugged it, bench bled it till there were no bubbles, then hooked it up on the truck and bled the lines several times, seems there isnt any air in the system, but the pedal will still go all the way to the floor, and will barely stop the truck if you roll it. dunno if its normal, but when you pump it, then let it sit, it will backfill in the reservoir.....
