It comes off the back of the carb. Its a yellow wire with a blue stripe.

well, its the mazda forum, so I'd say there is definitely no danger of breaking 88 mph

I think its the AC idle up...

If its the ac idle up where does it plug into?

I think it's the choke wire that plugs into the back of the alternator.

Russ I'd agree with you- ac idle up wire. You can see the choke wire on the choke in the picture, and that is right around the throttle area where the idle up switch is

here is a pic that shows the wire and what it is connected to really good.

few people told me it is the choke and plugs into the back of the alternator but there is only one plug on the back and this is plugged into it.

nope that IS the choke wire, its just the ALTERNATOR side is what threw me.

That spade plugs to a male spade on the back of the alternator, there isnt a pigtail or anything, just a male spade inset on the alt.

Sorry for the confusion. If it doesnt reach the alt the wire is just run the wrong way or tied to something.

Sure enough that is the choke wire, the AC dashpot has a red wire, I just checked.

look on the back of the alt, there is a spot there for that connector.
