scary suspensions

is it me or are there more and more scary suspensions out there that people show off and think they are cool and safe? almost every day i look here at some of these profiles and i get scared. i do not want to drive around almost 50% of the vehicles i see on here. dont get me wrong, im all for bagged and body dropped, im talkin about the vehicles that the suspensions are just weak looking. when you "cantilever" a bag suspension, you cant make the linkage out of small diameter tubing. but yet we see it almost every day. some of these rear frame clips (and full frames) that i see are just plain dangerous. is it just me or are other people seeing this "not safe" trend happening also?

yep, even with a couple of good shops in my area. I see more hack shit than pro built or good home built stuff. It is just the way of things in this scene, with all the young diys

I remember my first airbagged truck, I bought the "kit" from Stage 1 and had a guy at an axle shop install it. Even though I bought a TCI 4 link from the Chop Shop the guy didnt want to put it in, so he just chopped my leafs off behind the axle and left it that way.

I drove around a while before I had the 4 link installed, I'm sure if someone would have seen it they would have been scared to be behind me too, but hey we all gotta start somewhere. I've learned the difference between good enough and half assed in the last 10 years since I had that toyota. No one is born with knowledge, you have to learn somewhere. You can tell a baby all day long that fire is hot and the baby wont learn till he burns himself.

yeah, BYC is, well, there is another forum for that. there are a number of overnight shops everywhere that shouldn't be allowed to play with power tools. Just my 2 cents.

m first setup was real shitty, the 4 link snapped when i hauled ass around a corner because the dumbass the did it made the upper brackets like a fott tall so it would clear the gas tank...it was unsafe...i think it broke bot 3 times before i got a better setup...2 link
