i think it mainly stems from people just not knowing what is safe and what isnt. they only learn from the people who teach them, so if the teacher was retarded or no one taught them, how do they know

yeah, BYC is, well, there is another forum for that. there are a number of overnight shops everywhere that shouldn't be allowed to play with power tools. Just my 2 cents.

arent you the guy that has the shop that made those sweet 4 link bars by welding a nut on the end of a piece of pipe?

I think some people that insist on doing this shit themselves, just need to take a step back, take some time to think about what their doing, once you have an idea in your head you can figure out where the strengths and weaknesses are, whats going to work and whats goig to fail. If you cannot wrap your brain around it just over engineer everything, better safe than dead! Taking some physics classes, welding classes, etc. helps too, physics kicks ass!

m first setup was real shitty, the 4 link snapped when i hauled ass around a corner because the dumbass the did it made the upper brackets like a fott tall so it would clear the gas tank...it was unsafe...i think it broke bot 3 times before i got a better setup...2 link

id rather have a broken four link than a working 2 link.

I don't think its fair to blame it on "Young DIYers." I'm 17, and built my own link setup. I'm sure its safe and well built.

No, I have nothing to do with that. I posted saying it was scary, along with most of their other work. Go back and read the thread, Cris. I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy. Thanks for trashin me when I live several hundred miles away from those morons, and I thought you were siding with me on that thread. To the others that added on to it, go look at the thread. I was making fun of that jackass, for talking shit to me and trying to defend his "link bars."
