ok, I read what I can about the "non servicable drivelines" but I still am not sure if mine are or aren't the b***y ones. does anyone have a pic of the non servicable ones? mine don't seem to look any different than anything I've ever changed before. THX

I think on mazdas you can't replace the u-joints, so when they go bad they cost a little to be fix, or get a use one on the wreckibg yard

yup, i had a carrier bearing go out on mine, just went to pull a part and picked up a new one for $20 then tossed the old one in the dumpster

I thought some were?.... I'm confused, I have no problem finding the part that is SUPPOSED to work, but what's the deal?

You cant just bolt in new u joints in the one piece driveshafts and you can only bolt in a new u joint in the two piece shaft where the two shafts meet by the carrier bearing.

they sell the staked U-joints. you'll need to press out the old ones and press these new ones in. really a bitch and a half, but if you are really wanting to keep your shaft, then this place can help you. just be really careful and not ruin the mounts where the ujoint goes when you press them out.

replaced my ujoint on the yoke and differential side with their u-joints and the center ujoint was bought from autozone

used a hydraulic press at my dad's work

I don't care if I keep my shaft or not, just want ALL of the work done myself(if possible and I refuse to get beat by a stinkin driveline). If it's just a matter of pressing them I have done that to all of my drivelines before and I don't see what the big deal is

if you have a hydraulic press, go for it.

rockford driveline components makes u joints for all mazda drivelines. none of them are un-servicable
i remember when i had to do it. autozone kept on tellin me that they had the one, but it was way to big for what actually fit in there... find a place near you that sells rockford driveline stuff. they'll have it
part number should be 430-11
if you cant get it message me, i can get them here in town

most driveline shops can change them out to a replacable style. I've had that done on a few mazdas i've owned. Cost a extra few bucks, but if you are planning on keeping it, it will be worth it.
