The difference is .2 liters.

All bullshit to the side I think they will bolt up because I think it is the same block just different head....

^ yep, will pretty much bolt right in

there are some carb differences, mainly just more vacuum stuff from the newer 2.2s but nothing to worry about.

hey buddy that .2 is like 140 hp....

essentially the same. The 2.0 has a shorter stroke (like cris) and manual valve lash adjusters, but the heads are the same casting and the blocks are identical except deck height. The carbs as mentioned have slight differences in vacuum routing, no big deal if you just swap long blocks and leave the carb complete and hooked up while switching. The intakes interchange, in fact almost everything does except the crank and pistons etc...

hey russ its not the length of the stroke, its how you apply it

i ended up telling the guy no because i found out the 86-87 motors are different then the motors from 88-93 i dont know if its just the .2 difference but i told him no i was just going to do th ehead gasket and run it like that but the oil cap and the carb was open for a year so i dont know what kinda shit got in there and it just seems to be a bigger headache to install a smaller motor or the -.2 motor then to install the origonal motor and besides i have no way to get it here and it was like a hour away so its less of a headache if i dont get it

you found out wrong. The motors are identical except the (small) differences I listed. Each one is a drop in/bolt in replacement for the other.
