nope i called the junkyard i usually deal with cause i work at a garage so i deal with them alot. my first truck i needed a motor and they said the 86-87 b2000 motor is different from 88-93 which is the 2200 or even the 2600 but now that i know that there the same and i can use them ill find a truck a little closer to me i just need one with a good carb since there so rare anyone know of a mazda ex cab in ct send me a message i dont care about motor or trans i got parts galore thanks for the help
yeah its the 84-85 B2000 thats different, but it will still bolt in. It just has a different cylinder head so the exhaust is on the passenger side and the carb is on the drivers. It also has a timing chain.
So they were partly right, the earlier 84-85 B2000 is marginally different, but it still usues the FE block.
