the heim joint way is the "smart way" or the only way if you have tubeular uppers. i just notched out my upper arm and plated it to clear. my suburban is an 84 with a 2 inch trad. bodydrop and a 2" Z as well. without a bodydrop i would imagine you would be fine. i also only have 20" rims bigger would mean more of an issue. hope that helps.
