the ist gen me and my buddies did we went 4 and it layed rocker hard. overlapping the back of the cab is a must so just like everyone else said cut like a 3 1/4 tall section out and overlap it

this will be alot easier... Cut out the rectangle and down the sides, butt weld the pieces together from the inside, then weld a piece of sheetmetal over the entire back wall and spot weld it in. Then all youll have to do is smooth out the edges of the new piece and youll have a perfectly smooth back cab wall in a day. Overlapping is good but since you want the smooth back wall itll be better this way
