unhook the subs from the amp and see if the amp stays in protect-could be a sub causing the problem

well, what kind of amp is it...Some amps turns on the "protect" LED on intial load, and the only other time is when there is an overload. ANYHOW, i agree with "bigjdub"...Also you might wanna disco the rca's so all you have is power going to it and start there.....

blown fuse or a short somewhere

well i tried everything, and still the same prob.i checked for short anywhere same thing happens.i noticed that wen i connected the power to the amp it usually makes sum kinda spark or sumthin and this time it doesnt do anything.so i dont know im gunna check out the amp to c if thats the problem.any other suggestions?

make sure you have a good connection on the ground, perhaps it came loose.

ya i might try diff rca's.my ground it fine i checked it out, hopefully its my rca's.

well i tried diff rca's that didnt fix it.but i did find out that it does the same thing with or w/o the power chord connected to it.can that be the prob?cuz i checked the fuse up front and it had a lil moisture.so i dried it out and im gunna try it again later.
