WELL,I can say I dont agree with most of these posts from experience...The 6.2 and 6.5 ARE essentially the same motor, and they are a good motor.YES they are basically a modified gas smallblock but They serve their purpose, get good milage, are proven time and time again by the military and many other reliable sources in any form, non turbo 6.2,non turbo 6.5,and turbo 6.5.There should be no reason to want to put the cummins into a lowered chevy,it makes power in a whole different way,and probly not worth the time and effort and costs of swapping it in...driveshafts,tranny,motor,harness,mounts,etc.
You should be able to get plenty of lift from 2600 bags as a diesel shouldnt be much heavier,if any than a bigblock.
As far as performance goes, this being a 95 MAY NOT have come stoick with catyletic converters...some of the 95s didnt so you can run 4" exhausts straight with no hassle, there are chips and programmers you can buy,or crank up the injector pump...you can also research turbos and find yourself a bigger unit, but watch out because too big of a turbo will cause turbo lag so your boost really wont be noticable at lower end in town driving...
