YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO CLEAR OVER ACRYLIC ENAMEL... ITS "SINGLE STAGE" PAINT.... YOU SHOLD HAVE WENT BASE-COAT CLEAR-COAT.... HELL I IMAGINE YOU CAN WETSAND AND POSSIBLE SPRAY CLEAR OVER IT BUT I COULD TELL YOU IF THERE WOULD BE SOME CHEMICAL REACTION AND MESS UP... I CANT STAND SPRAYING ACRYLIC ENAMEL IT AINT WORTH A SHIT.... BASE-COAT CLEAR-COAT IS THE WAY TO GO...

There is a tech article in the Tech section that will tell you everything you need to know but like said about You don't clear it

You sure can. As long as the acrylic enamel has had plenty of time to dry, just wet sand it with nothing finer than 1000 and spray it. No chemical reactions. Just make sure you dont miss any spots wetsanding or it'll flake off.

Ya I sprayed enamel back in the day but this acrylic stuff didn't turn out well at all?
I may just wet sand the shit down and try some compound on it

yea i would wetsand and buff it before you try and shoot clear over it... its tough to wet sand but you can get if slick just like clear then buff and get a good finish....

you can clear over single stage, with out wet sanding if given the proper flash time, unless you are unhappy with the job then wet sand and clear. if it looks fine then clear over it in an hour, cuz clear coat will flash off alot quicker than the single stage. too soon it will solvent pop.

It was sprayed 4 days ago so will the clear still go one without sanding THIS SHIT IS HARD to sand
lowgmc   +1y
no now you need to sand it. you can wet sand with 1000 or dry sand d.a. with an interface pad 800.
