don't use spray cans. i had a mazda that the guy had spray canned it flat black, and that was some shit to get off. it also looked terrible and made the truck look like a beater. just find a small shop that'll spray it for cheap. or better yet goto the local tech college and take the bodywork intro class for 80 bucks and use all their stuff, lots of people do that here.

how much do you think a shop would charge to primer a truck?

Honestly most shops arent gonna want to fool around with a cheap ass primer job.....cause they arent gonna make any money for a decent amount of work.

Cause they are gonna have to treat it just like a complete paint job in order to prime the whole thing.

Ony way you gonna get a cheap job really IMO would be this (other than a buddy) .... get setup with someone who works for themselves and owns thier own shop... then prep it all 100%, tape it all up, and everything.... then just roll it in and let em shoot it and then roll it out.... only thing with this is most shops dont even wanna do that is cause thier name is on the work regardless and if it looks like ass the person isnt gonna say "well i did all the half ass prep work" ....

before i started painting myself I had a local shop that i had a deal setup with cause after we did it once like that he liked the prep work & didnt mind having his name on it at all cause it came out just as good....so he ended up shooting several rides for me doing complete color changes even for only like $150 a pop
