Im looking to use an S10 clip because it has all the aftermarket I need, once I find out if its wide enough with the stock crossmember, i will be looking for a first gen clip, if not just a blazer clip. Do they differ much between the first gens of each? I know the spindles may be different. What I want to know is if I will get enough lift with 22's or 24's if i go under axle, or should i just notch the frame right before the axle. Reason I am looking at under axle and bending it upwards after the axle for the fuel cell is, I need all the room for my system as possible. Its a regular cab and i plan on going blow through. What are guys opinions? When I mock up under axle, I have to find right height correct, before doing the back suspension setup, for link bars and all, same with normal backhalf? Any help is appreciated.

I think an s10 clip is gonna be a little narrow for what your trying to do. If i remember correctly its only 53 inches wide hub to hub. Try going with a FSC clip, same amount of aftermarket parts available for them as an s10, and it will much better suit your needs. I deff wouldnt go with a frame under axle setup with wheels that big. Probably wont clear a 22 or 24, and would make it a huge bitch to change a tire. Since its a fullsize you will still have plenty of room for a blow-through if you engineer it around it. Good luck.

I see what your saying about the flat tire situation, but isnt underaxle better with larger wheels, cuz it allows for more lift? Then again, its just as easy to notch it like a traditional backhalf, and just leave it raised after the axle.

bigger wheels allow you to get more lift with the frame under the axle, but you can get more lift with it over the axle.

right, I guess I will see where it takes me. most likely im going to make my bed sealed off and flush, as to hide everything I can and make it clean as hell, so the frame the frame can just go up for the notch, and hold the fuel cell at that level out back. does anyone have any pics of frames like this, with the bed on and the bed floor raised? I want to see what it looks like. Most likely I will do like I said and just smooth the bed completely.

find a 89-98 chevy front clip there cheap.

from the schematics im lookin at of my truck, it shows body mounts on the outside and a pretty narrow frame. narrow to the point i would have to section an s10 engine x-member. something around 32 inches is what it looks like, i will measure in a few to get the real width, but I may be looking at fullsize ands10 clips if this is the case.

and back to the question of "is a blazer front clip much different than a dime"?

the s10 and s10 blazer front clip is the same. they only change spring rates and spindles if im correct. Id run a narrow ass s10 clip on your truck with some long ass control arms and get like 15" of lift up front! Do bags on the bars on the back. rides better and gets 2x more lift. Youll have to change your bolt pattern to match the front though...

I didnt know if longer tubular arms changed things a lot or not, but that is an option...

but if i run an s10 clip its really gunna be wider than stock if how im reading the schematic right.
