can you adjust it or should it be ok?

ok, i have a 6 gallon tank with a viair 380 200psi max compressor. i also have a eai pressure switch. how longn do you think it should it take to fill it up? and are these pressure switches good? i mean if it went bad, my tank would blow? what other saftey device can i use, a blow off valve? please try to help me out. thanks. i just dont want to worry about it. and i dont have a gauge yet, will that matter? im getting one soon. thanks again.
anything you can throw at me? info? this is my 'first' air set up.

i think your comp would blow or pop a fuse before your tank blew.

try runnin a gauge on ur tank, least u can see where ur at with the pressure that way

thanks for the quick info guys. im learning. so if i still have a port open ( well its closed up now with a fitting) can i run air line from it with a gauge in my car? also, the compressor says 200 max psi and i have a 6 gallon tank, about how long for that thing to fill? cause i mean after 1 hr og it just filling, would that say anything? maybe 15mins? 30 mins? anyone? please.

ya u can run a line for a gauge outta that port, no problem there. My truck takes about eight minutes witha viair 450 to fill a 5 gallon tank from 0-175, so ya uve gotta bad p-switch from the sounds of it

Well on a 5 gallon tank it takes 14min 45sec to fill from 0 to 200psi so i would say a lil longer that that is all it would take. I would get a gauge its the best way to go. The single needle gayges are not that much check out our site for a few there. You can also run a safty blow off that is just like the one on a home air compressor. We have them or you can pick them up at the Home Depot or Lowes

thanks for the help. i will check the site out for sure. so one more question. if i just let the compressor run and its been 20min, it should shut off with my pressure switch?

long story short. i just got this kit a week ago, i had a blowjack compressor that was hook up to a selinoid,( was that ok) one or the other took a dump so i just got the viair compressor hooked up today with a ralay.( which is better thean a selinoid?) so a gauge it is. one more q? do you know the max pressure it should hold? that depends on the pressure switch? thanks alot, really.

viair doesnt recommend psi above 150, or warranty over 150 that is, however, my 450 has been runnin at 170 for over two years now, driven daily, so.....u decide that one

man^^^thanks for the comments/helps. ok, do you know how do you control the psi? i mean i have the pressure switch and it was working with the old compressor, so that should be ok. yea, i need a gauge for sure. and on the gauge, it should go over 200psi ever? thanks alot, really.just think, i will be passing this down to my kids someday, so this is helpfull. thanks

one final bump. i think i go it. even with the pressure switch, id still want am extra safety, right? a gauge, which is just a air line from one port to the gauge?and it should never hit 200 psi? thanks again
