traditional you cut the floor and raise it, which means you loss headroom inside the cab. On a stockfloord you a build a new frame usually from the firewall back out of steel tubing and you won't loss any headroom, plus i like it that you're actually on the ground when laid out instead of havin the step, jus looks cooler to me

in the basic of meanings:

traditional=cut around the floor, including back wall and firewall. Let the bitch drop and patch the difference back up.

SFBD=typically a new frame built out of smaller tubing from the front clip back. then the only thing that needs to be raised is typically around the tranny.

Here's some tricks I found and used on mine

Traditional Body dropped 3.5 inches on 18"s,stock hood.

-Didnt cut the front frame horns, just sectioned the radiator support.
-Nissan 720 Radiator.
-Lowered motor mounts 3/4"
-Nissan Patherfinder lower steering shaft, to eliminate the rag joint that binds on the steering box.you gain an extra "Ujoint" which helps with your steering over the upper control arm.
-
I highly recomend if you dont pull your cab, that when your done patching the floor sides, backwall, and firewall...that you take your truck to a muffler shop or somewhere with a lift and weld back up the frame mounts to the body you had to cut through....

how much did you sectioned the radiator support same as body drop?

on my front i raised the mounts on the coresupport. then made a new front crossmember for the radiator to sit down in.
