cummins are a pretty dmn good engine along with the duramaz and the psd but remeber when it breaks its very costly to fix i deal with alot of industrail diesels such as cummins, detroit, cat and so such and ive heard alot of good reviews about the duramax and cummins but also diesel is fixin to lose the sulpher additive in it but im not fully sure whats taken it place but i say get a dodge or chevy but from what i been told ford is comin out with a 6.4 twin turbo but thats what my shop teacher heard

i stand corrected, they do not have IFS, but dont have Ibeams either... They have monobeams, and no longer have the front leaf springs, they are coils now.

the psd and cummins have worser gas mileage than the duramax does and also the duramax had more hp and torque than the other from the factory but not as many aftermarket parts. the alison trans is by far a better tranny also than the other two. but if you are wanting power the cummins diesel can make more hp/torque than the other two with aftermarket parts. plus the issue of the ford i-beams as mentioned up above. the ford and dodge get like 11 mpg where the chevy gets 17 mpg. all are good trucks tho.

Um my combination with my dodge truck and trailer was 32k pounds at 13 foot 6 inches high and still got 11-12 on the highway..and 22mpg in town empty..Mine was chipped and exhaust. Cummins is the only way to go..I have driven ( not test driven..DRIVEN) the duramax and wasnt impressed with anything but there trannys..The 6.0 is weak compared to the HO Cummins..I have owned a 7.3 PSD and it got the worst gas mileage ever...Chevy and Ford desiel trucks are pretty trucks for pretty boys..If you want a god damn machine that comes with its own set of balls..Get a DODGE.

Hey, thanks for the replies y'all. Especially James(Get Twisted). I picked up a copy of Diesel Power, and the comparison was pretty good, pretty good mag too.
I'm still not sure which one I'm gonna go with. Plus the fact that I know Chevy is gonna redesign their trucks for '07, and have heard that Ford is gonna do the same, is not helping make things any easier. I haven't had a chance to go test drive anything yet since I've been working all week, but I'm hoping to get a chance this weekend.
Anyways, thanks again y'all, and I'll keep you guys posted if I buy a new toy in the next few days.

I would personally stay away from the 6.0 Powerstroke. My buddy has had 2 of those engines destroyed. The first one had around 5K miles. I have an older 7.3 and love it. Good luck with the purchase.

DODGE ALL THE WAY. I HAVE HAS A FORD PS AND DROVE A CHEVY CROSS COUNTRY LAST YEAR. THE DODGE I DRIVE NOW HAS ALL THE POWER ANYONE NEED OUT OF THE BOX. I DONT LIKE THE CHEVY AT ALL NOT A FAN OF THE ALLISON TRANS. FILLS WEAK IN SHIFTING WITH A 20K+ LOAD ON IT. THE MEGA CAB DULLY WITH THE BED TAKEN OFF AND ADD A FLAT ALUM. BED IS KICK ASS AND WILL PULL YOUR HOUSE,WITH THE 6 SPEED. IF YOU GO WITH THE DODGE GET 3.92 GEARS NOT THE 4.10 A LOT BETTER ON THE ROAD. PLUS I HAVE SEEN CUMMINGS WITH 400.000 MILES PLUS THAT RUN AS GOOD AS NEW. just my 2 cent good luck with whatever you buy.
