5 lug on 720...

got a parts truck for my toyota.. its a 75 and i was wondering if the hubs and axle were too old to use to 5 lug my 720. i know most people use them from newer toyotas. do i use toyota drop spindles? third dumb question.. since i have to modify my driveshaft for 5 lug rearend can i use a one piece 720 driveshaft, so i can get rid of my two-piece and cut out the huge carrier bearing xmember?

the first prob is it would be drum fron on that age am i right?

anyway, you would keep your nissan spindle, and just machine the face back about 3/16" (or shim the caliper)

and i'm guessing you wanna use the toyota axle??? whole lotta work, when you could just get the nissan re drilled, and save all that driveshaft work

the front of the toyota has discs.

thats what i am saying. your running disk on the front now, why is it a problem?

Those Toyota spindles are not compatible with the newer drop spindles. You need the 84 and up hubs, rotors, calipers, everything. I did the swap on my 80 to run drop spindles.

my 720 has a 2 piece driveshaft dunno bout yours.....i just got my rear drums redrilled, much easier

On the front use 84 and up toyota hubs and rotors, put them on nissan drop spindles, the berrings are the same for nissan and toyota you will just need to find a rear grease seal that will fit in the toyota hub but slide over the nissan spindle shaft. I think it was for like a toyota camry or something. You keep your calipersand everything else it will just b tricky getting the cotter pin in the end of the spindle. You will have to notch the spindle nut a bit. for the rear just have the axles re drilled to a 5 on 4.5 toyota pattern. I used a toyota rear end and cut the drive shaft, a lot of work but I did it myself.

sorry i guess i was a little vague in my first post, i have a two-piece driveshaft in my truck now, but i just pulled my one piece out of my parts 720. wasnt sure if by some strange reason the two and one piece were different lenghts. (both standard cabs) only reason i want to go for the one piece is because my carrier bearing is shot, like as in there is no bearing just the housing. with it in that shape i cant drive with the rear lifted too high because it will bind up something horrid.. and my truck gets up pretty high in the back and would like to drive it that way if i wanted. weighing the cost of a new bearing and what i have laying around just makes since to opt for the one piece!

does it matter what lug pattern u use or are there more wheel combos for the 5 lug

does anyone know what part numbers the bearings for this conversion are? ive got the front hubs but i keep hearing different things about the conversion, that it might be better to get the spindles cut to fit the toy hubs better.
