baggin an f150

im gettin ready to bag my 98 extended cab f150 i was wondering what all u guys have used for it and what u have to do to the truck its selfalso what tires u need for it to lay out on 20s

when i bagged mine (had it bagged ) i had a smaller driveshaft made 3" two piece custom so i would not have to cut the cab are crossmembers at the back of the cab and i'm running 20" wheels with 255-35-20 tires also i'm running djm lowers and 2" spindles on the fronttookthe spring ocket out and replated my frame for the bag to mount on the top .

well when i bagged mine i bagged it on 275/45/20s, and i had to cut out a good bit of the fenderwells, and relocate the battery, ecu plug, theres three square plugs on driver side, change the break booster and i didnt change my driveshaft but i had to notch the crossmember that holds the gas tank, and i had to notch the crossmember thats made onto the bottom of the back of the cab where the cab bolts go through...everything else is fairly simple. i didnt change my wheels to a 255/35/20 until i body dropped it, so im not sure exactly how much u would have to do that i mentioned above. i would imagine the ecu and the batt and the crossmembers for sure. also my tranny x member hung way down under the frame prolly 3 - 4 inches. i just cut the excess that hung below the frame off because its just channel and i replated the bottom of it to reinforce it. also in the front i have djm lowers which will get ur frame to the ground, but i redid em to fit 2600s. if u want to take the easy way out in the front u can just get djm lowers and fit a 2500 lb bag in wtih no hassle. i just wanted the bigger bag for the extra life. any other questions pm me

GOOD LUCK MAN I GOT 245/35/20'S ON MINE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE TO RELOCATE ANYTHING UNTIL THE BODYDROP. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL DRIVESHAFT JUST NOTCH THE CROSSMEMBERS AND REINFORCE THEM AND YOUR GOOD TO GO.

20's are alot easier than 22's unless you body drop. you shouldn't have get a new brake booster, but you'll have trim out the inner fender, move the battery up, move the washer fluid. the ecu and the 3 plugs shouldn't need to be moved with 20's.

there is a vacuum canister behind the passenger fender that youll need to move also. just extend the hose and put it behind the grille. as for the battery mine is now behind my bumper. The wiring that runs across the firewall in now behind the dash along with the cpu and three plugs on the driver side

I am running djm uppers and lowers and spindles...no camber its cool. But I have the cash to throw around. So that route is up to you. I had trouble with the fact. uppers binding. and I went with the lowers for looks. You can just chop down the lowers and replate them to cut costs.

And if you do it run 40 series tires. Yeah a little more work but what you get in looks is well worth it. Well that is my opin. anyway I just think the 35s are to small and dont look right.

youll have to raise the fuel tank as well.

just curious but if u got djm lowers, and spindles it seems u wouldnt be gettin as much lift as u would without the spindles...i bet if u take the spindles off and put ur stock spindle on that u would lay just as low and have a lot more lift than what u got now

i get more than enuff lift in the front more than i need .

I made a tech article on bagging one on my web site. 97-98, layed on 20s easyly without spindles. I made the article about a month ago, and bagged it about 4-5 years ago, i think i got eveverything...

when mine got bagged they had to cut down & replate the lower arms,notch out for the tie rods,raise the inner fenders,i got an optima battery & just laid it on it's side so it wasn't really relocated.i'm runnin a 245/35/20 up front & i have plenty of room,enough room to fit a 255/30/22.also you'll probably wanna get a fuel cell or move the gas tank into the bed b/c it comes pretty close to the ground when laid out
