snap on welders are not made by miller, they suck to get parts for and are way over priced, i had a snap on 140 ($1900) and a 240 ($2400) and they dont even compare to my miller 210 which was $1100 and can go to the store to get parts off the shelf rather then waitin till the snap on truck shows up

Snap-On welders ARE made by Miller or Lincoln , I KNOW for fact it is one of the two, because I can go to my welding shop and get any parts I need for it, anytime I need them. The guy at my welding shop and my Snap-On dealer both told me it was one of those two, I just don't remember which. Even if I couldn't get parts from the store, I'd just call up my dealer and have any part I needed same or next day delivered to me.

The problem with Snap on and Mac is that they will have whomever wins the bid on building the machines when they do a run on them, build them. That means last years model may have different internal parts than this years. Most that I have seen were made by Century(which if you want to argue is NOT Linoln electric BUT they were, I believe recently purchased by Lincoln)

When you say you buy parts, do you mean tips and nozzles? Most "Generic" machines use Tweco end parts (most Lincoln guns included) You will probably have trouble getting someone to service the machine if you need to and getting parts maybe all but impossible(internal parts)

and like Mike said, $2400 is a hose! A millermatic 210 is plenty for around $1200. Heck you can get a 250 for around $1800.

what he said, lol

ive asked miller about the same thing and Pneufab is exactly correct, century and i think chicago electric have been involved in building some of their stuff
