Hey, i was thinking abuot going to the local paint suply and getting a pinstriping brush and a can off One Shot

What's something good to practice on? i was thinking a piece of masonite maybe?

practice on anything dude the pinstrip paint should stick to anything... they have this paint that is adhesive to all surfaces at sherwin williams

yea i know it will stick to anything, but pulling a brush across the hood of a car and then across a piece of sandpaper isn't the same. I guess what i meant was what's something i can practise on that has the same feel as a car

A pane of glass.

I use a piece of glass to practice on. Popular things to play on are plexi, bowling pins, sheetmetal, ect. Glass gives you an advantage if youve never done it before, because you can lay out a grid on the glass (or under it) and practice not only pulling lines, but getting your design symetrical. Stablio pencils are good for laying out a grid, because you can stripe over it, and then wipe the rest away without damaging your design. For more info check out www.thehamb.com you should find some tips, and other links there.

Try a tool box. I started striping the box I got for my brushes and paints. A $9. purchase at Wal-Mart. You can always wipe it off with denatured alcohol, or you can just stripe over your old stuff as you improve. Stabilo pencils are fine, but they tend to stain primer jobs. I'd suggest using chalkboard chalk. Just got my work shot by a mag at the Good Guys show this weekend. Just go for it.
