I have an industrial battery 100 amp circut breaker then a 200 amp stinger relay then 2 40 amp fuses. Before I had a normal optima with the stock alt and it would kill the battery in no time even when it was running installed a 200 amp alt and it's golden now. You need to treat two of those as you would an oasis almost. They draw alot.

I've been running 2 AZ comps on a 5 gallon tank to 200 psi in my 300 for about 6 months now, stock battery, stock alt, no problems.

Guys I wrote the install part of the mini truckin article anything you need help on shoot me an E-mail tech@air-zenith.com I am happy to help.

Matt was right. Max power is not at 200PSI the closer to 200 the lower the amp draw ( I know makes no sense)

Proper sizing of power system components is paramount. Large good quality wire relay and so on.

For a battery a single optima Yellow top is best it is built as a cross between starting and a deep cycle battery. It will start your car fine but has the built in ability to handle long constant loads such as a compressor. If you have a 2 battery system a red top optima under the hood and a blue top in the rear for the compressor through an isolator will work fantastic. A red top is mainly a starting only bat and the Blue top is a marine trolling motor deep cycle battery with minimal starting capacity.

so what's the deal with these air zeniths? I'm running a 5 gallon tank with a viair 380 now and a 165/200 pressure switch. I'm looking for faster fill times but need a reliable compressor for my daily driver.

i have 2 air zeniths an ran fine for a day then one stopped working i charged up the batt an started it up still only 1 let it run for about 10 min an the other one kicked on now it fryed my alt so deff. recc. bigger than a 75 amp alt especially since the truck doesnt wanna run until they shut off but a great compressor none the less it fills a 12 gal tank 0-200 psi in like maybe 10 min ..
