there is nothing wrong with it in the eyes of a nuclear engineer or maybe an electrical engineer.

everyone seems to be a self proclaimed engineer nowadays

they bes fabrikatin shiz and they bes engineerz

engineering is not fabrication

the word engineer in this scene is like the word rice. overused word. only difference is ppl know exactly what rice is

Do you actually think we believe your an engineer????? If you cant figure out why your "BOLT ON" 4 link wont go in properly, your not an engineer. If you were an engineer, you would have built it yourself, because you could have done it better. This is what real engineers do, seeing as my grandfather and 2 of my uncles are engineers. Engineers dont buy shitty bolt on parts.

I realy don't care waht you belive! I didn't have alot of time or energy for this project, so I tried to take the easy way out. I decide to ask question, because unlike most of you here I am not perfect, and do miss things. I am a structural engineer, and would trust my life to my design, but I would not trust my life to my fabrication skills.

Thanks to everyone who actualy contributed in a positive manor! To the rest of you...get a life, making fun of others does not make you less of a loser!

My guess would be that they probably had it listed wrong and it is for another year dakota. Maybe the mounting points on the axle of the older trucks are narrower or the frame mounts on the newer trucks are wider. Thats about the only thing I can come up with.

Thanks for the helpful advise !I am thinking of building my own brackets if I have to. I have a TIG welder in the shop and was tring to save time buy buying a kit that would go on quick and easy, that idea went out the window about 2 days ago. Thanks fo the opinion.

In that case, I would wash the welds off with a plasma or oxyfuel torch, grind all the "powdercoating" off, and go start tigging. I recommend using a scratch awl and square after you clean the "powdercoating off, so you automatically know where the tabs end and begin, and you always know where bolt center is. Just my thoughts on the matter. Only problem I see would be a warranty issue, but I digress, it is Chassis Tech, I don't believe they have honored a warranty since the Reagan administration. Again, I wish you luck. And I do agree with Downsub, the hateful posts seem to be the nature of the beast.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I had a box body style body dropped to the doors, and I took a trip to the junk yard one day in search of newer body style parts. If my memory serves me correctly, it has the same hub-hub distance, and the chassis is the same width, I think the distance from axle center to leaf pivot is a bit different, though. Again, I could be wrong. Happens.
