Booger is right, just American or Jap bed in both long bed and short bed configurations. I bought a brand new bed from Toyota as well as severel more for my customers since all here in the NE are rusted out, $$$. List is about $1800 but I was able to get them for about $1300 with the gate.

thanks fer the help so far but now ive just orderd my air bag stuff yesterday and i was wandering about the brake deal in the back can i just tee it or is ther one on this old of a truck? im asking this cus one on my budies tacoma that i helped bag years ago, it had a rod comeing out of it and that bolted to the rear end what do ya do with it tos it or do ya have to keep it?

i tee'd mine off about a year ago with no problems (although i haven't had to get on the brakes hard yet). i say that because those valves are for it to sense how much of a load is in the back so it'll meter how much fluid to go to the rear cylanders. if it's all the way open-all the time, the rear brakes will lock up a lot easier, but if you drive like a f**kin grandma like me...you'll be just fine.

good luck man...

The american style bed (without lip) is available in long or short wheelbase. It is used on the 2wd and 4wd trucks, it was a universal format.

The Japanese/Canadian beds (With lip) were available in 2wd and 4wd styles, short and long wheel base. The difference between 2wd and 4wd Japanese/Canadian beds is the flares for the larger tires on the 4wd series.

Both the american(universal) and Japanes/Canadian 4wd beds have the same flare to match the 4wd fenders. You can turn a 2wd J/C bed into a 4wd bed with the sheetmetal flares available from several places.

thats good becase i was planing on running 18,s and 20,s so the rear probably wont lock up as easy with the larger tires in the rear thanks corey
