p.s.- remember, you'll also need to purchase the lock-up (overdrive) module that will let the tranny go into and out of overdrive. if you don't it will simply function as a 3 speed and never get into the 4th gear.

i never ran one of these on my tranny, and i had all gears and it would lock up in overdrive, it depends on what model of the 700r4. if it's the older ones they didn't have eletric lock-outs on the t.c.

you can tell the difference between the two by seeing if there's more connections to the transmission than just the speed sensor (located by the tail shaft), it there's another connect on it by the bell housing or the valve body then you'll need to find yourself a lock out kit.

And again, i remind you, it's very important to get this cable adjusted properly.

you have to buy it. normally they're interal and controled by measuring resitance pressure in inches of mercury. If you ditch your ECM which normally figures all this out, you just have to buy an exteral one, that applys 12 volts after it reaches 8-10 inches of mercury inside the tranmission, while in 4th gear, and above a certain RPM range for longer than 4-8seconds......
