I have a set of KMC slam's on my truck, and because they're clear coated they won't polish out for crap!!! I've heard people say to use acid and blah blah, but I'm not about to dump acids and junk all over my wheels with out knowing what I need to use, and how to use it. Do any of you guys have or had this problem? What do ya'll suggest?

The acid will eat the clearcoat off and if you leave it on the chrome long enough it will turn it white. We just spray it on and let it sit for a few seconds and then rub it in and spray it off.

So what kind of acid do I need and where can I get it? And what you suggest I use to repolish them? I've been using mother's billet polish for the wheels on my buddies S - 10 and it's some bad ass stuff!! Think that would be good enough?

I use aluminum acid. I get it of the cleaning products truck that comes around to the shops. The polish I use is a liquid polish that I get from the Flying J truck stops and it kicks Mothers and Eagle billet polishes ASS.

There aren't any truck stops close by here.... can you get that aluminum acid at the parts store or something?

So with this acid, I just need to leave it on for a few seconds - let it haze over and wash it off real good?
