If ya don't have aluminum acid like the purple stuff from Hotsy then you can go to Home Depot and grab a gallon of muratic acid. This stuff is alot stronger and be quick about it because it will turn the aluminum black if it sits too long. The only way to get the black off is with the aluminum acid. If you do find aluminum acid and leave it on till it turns the aluminum white it's still ok. It'll actually polish out quite easily, so don't be scared if that happens.



Lock what polish ya use? I use Zepher pro40 and Wizards like neverdull cotton crap. Heavy metal is another descent polish

Oh yeah... and dilute the acid 10:1 with water.

O ok, got ya. that was my biggest thing - was how long do I leave the acid on there before it ruins my wheels or what not..... I went and got some aluminum acid, some kind of purple stuff...... I don't think I'll have any problems! thanks for all the help guys!

It wont ruin them, it will turn them white. The longer you let it sit the whiter it'll get. It's actually taking all the oxidation and tarnish off the aluminum. If you turn em white and buff em out by machine they'll look stellar!

Ok, cool. Yeah, I've heard about 4 billion different people's opinion on what to use and how long it needs to stay on and blah blah. Just wanted a straight answer. Just want them to look descent for Lay'd Out, it's just my tow pig anyway, well, until I redo it...... but still gotta keep'em clean!! Thanks regal
