is there a way to do this? i just put on a 7" brake booster and matching master cylinder on my 02 s10 and it just doesnt stop like it used too. i mean it stops eventually but if i had to slam on brakes for any reason id be screwed! it stops good to a certain point and then no matter how hard u push the pedal ur not gunna stop any faster/better. im riding down the road and i imagine people look at me like i look like fred flintstone with my feet hangin outta the bottom of my truck cuz im standin up on my brake so hard. so can it be adjusted? i didnt get a new porportioning valve. i half ass understand what those do. i do believe the p.valve that was already on the truck when i got it is off of a 89 blazer if that helps. why do i always write a damn novel when i post a new topic question?

should get the matching proportioning valve.did you bleed the brake lines staring from the fartest point ie. the passanger rear wheel then drives rear wheel then poassanger front then drivers front.

yeah, ive already bled the brakes.

well you do have 20s and a smaller booster. its not going to stop like stock.
fatboysS1O   +1y
yeah that makes sense. but is there anyway to make it stop better at all without spending a ton of money?

what booster did you use? i've used a 7" universal from ebay. it was booster/mc on an s10. i had to reverse the porportioning valve for it screw back together b/c of the brake line sizes gm uses and what i can get at the local store.. it stopped like that.. like it stopped but not softly.. you had to stand on em.

the only fix i seen was getting a porportioning valve that was adjustable and setting it up.

You need to look at a few things first. First, are you getting full travel through your pedal linkage, through your booster, and too your master cylinder. Your master has to displace fluid to actuate the pistons and wheel cylinders.... if something is stopping or preventing full pedal travel you're not going to stop worth anything.

Next, your booster is simply there to aid in your braking, and make it more effortless. HOWEVER, if you are standing on your pedal, as far as it will go you are producing as much line pressure as that setup is capable of producing... working booster, or not.

Did you put a new master on your setup when you did this? If so, did you bench bleed it?
