A small one. We have a Lincoln 175 with the varible heat range. Works great can weld big stuff and small stuff. But for the big sh*t we use the Millermatic 250 old skool welder that has its own theme song...."Shaft"...

I found that the best welder for building trucks is the miller 210. It can do anything from 22ga sheetmetal to 3/8 single pass. For our heavy welding we use a welder that is older than i am, a Linde dualshield welder. Its like for 1''+ lol

For shaving and body mods I prefer my millermatic 135 (115V) and it can do up to 1/4 but its pushing the limit and the duty cycle! If your doing alot of frame mods I would go with a 220V machine like the above mentioned!

the little wire machines are nice for home work and you defenatly want to run on 220v because you get better penatratoin and thay run smoother. and you can be in one for around $500 thats with bottle and regulater

me on the other hand?
I'm set up to do any thing I have an XMT350 that lets me tig ,stick and for mig I have the invision wire feeder its set up with 1/6 wire right now but with a few quick changes it will run .030. I'm into mine around 8G's

I have a lincoln 175 220v that I keep at the body shop I work at, I love it, it works great on sheet metal when I'm shaving something, great for new quaters, rails, approns, core supports, and also does great with thick stuff, like frame work, etc.. At home I have a Miller.....

so either a miller or linc is what i am sensing and a 220v one
