Rear Axle

www.4x4wire.com is the only resource that i had that comes to mind that gave an axle width chart.... i had found several reputable sites that gave me the info, but the only thing you can truely believe is your eyes and a tape measure.

i have a 77 in my truck its like 53.

Im just did the 90 yota , is 2 in. narrower., way worth it man.

what mods do you have to do to make it work in the mazda? u joints? mounts?

ive heard stories that the 86-95 is 57.5" wide, but from my understanding the tacos are 60" wide, 86-95 is 58.5", and the earlier (79-85) are 55". i had an 83-84 in my mazda, and it was alittle over 3" narrower.

I have an '80, its just over 55" from drum to drum.

yeah thats definietly wrong, it shows the mazda B2200 and toyota 85-95 as the same width. Maybe its the Toyota 4x4 axle 85-95 that is the same width as the B2200 but the toyo 2wd 85-95 is a couple (it may even be 3) inches narrower than the mazda, I gaurantee it.

rusty thats the same info i have, i know my older toyota axle was a hair over 3" narrower, but the newer ones arent as narrow.

yeah it could still be that the 79-85 are narrower than the 85-95, but damn sure are the 89-95 toyo rears at LEAST 2.5 inches narrower than the mazda. That part of the info is wrong, unless they are referring to only the 4x4 stuff, because the only toyo 2wd rear that came with a 4:10 is the auto trans, the rest were all 3:7something, because using a toyo rear lowers your highway rpm.

Ok guys I have a 89 Toy axel in the Mitsu with a 373 gear and from outside drum to outside drum it is 56 inches
