Are you talking about using the vegatable oil? We have a buddy that makes it and after you buy all of the chemicals and machines to make it it costs around 1.50- 1.70 a gal. The mixing station costs about 3000 to buy and then you have to buy your regular chemicals that you use in the process. Then you have to buy the box to convert your vehicle which is only about 300 bucks.
yeah, things get to us here in the south alittle slower, lol. But from what I understand, the vegetable oil only works with diesels...... don't think I've heard of the CNG though.....
Yep the veg. oil thing only works on diesels. The guy that does it around here went and bought a brand new VW Jetta diesel and converted it to veg. oil.
My buddies and I used to own a school bus that ran on the propane. We had a hell of a time finding propane after about 10 pm since only a fraction of the gas stations sell propane along with gas. Theres also the problem that there isnt a road tax (at least here in Oregon) thats applied to the propane, so technically it is illegale for a gas station to sell it to you as a fuel for a car.
We ended up switching back to gas just because we got tired of trying to find propane.
Missouri just passed the ethanol act. All of our gas stations have to carry gas with 10% ethanol bu january of 2008. They say its cheaper to make and gets a lil bit better mileage, but the oil companies will still find a way to fuck us over.
