alright here you go i see this all the time at work we have the cars detailed and when tey spray the motors off the water gets in between the plugs and the wires cause a check engine light to come the cod efor the light would be a misfire on the cylinder thats wet best thing to do is pull the plug wires off and blow air in them to remove the water then spray the inside of the wires with silicone spray so it doesnt happen again. if you have a distributor do the same to it.

the oil from the k&n doesnt destroy the MAF all it does is coat the sensors with oil that can be cleaned off with brake clean. the coating on the sensors acts as resistence which in turn decreases responsive acceleration

The car is not sucking up water. You cannot suck up water if your filter is wet. Your filter has to be SUBMERGED to create a suction powerful enough to suck water in. Just run the code and that will tell you whats wet.
